Lifestyle | Let's Have A Big Catch Up!

Hello Lovelies! It feels like a long while since I've filled you in on what's going on in my life, and that is all for one good reason because recently my life has been super busy but now exams are over I'm free to blog as much as I like (yay!). But if hearing about my life doesn't interest you, then take a look at my Custard Cream Milkshake Recipe, or even these adorable and totally fabulous Unicorn Socks - or just hang around for a little insight into my life lately!

1. I WENT TO THE WARNER BROS HARRY POTTER STUDIO TOUR

I actually went yesterday for the third time (yes really), and it was amazing. I am the biggest Harry Potter nerd and whenever I go back it just makes me so emotional! Expect a nice long blog post all about it on this corner of the internet soon!

2. I DISCOVERED TED TALKS

You know when someone goes on and on about something to the extent that you almost don't want to do it anymore - well that's me with TED talks. I feel like a total cliche guys but honestly listening to a TED talk about happiness has kind of revolutionised the way I see my life. I've been trying to live in the moment more, and honestly I've never been so happy. It's honestly all been a bit of a revelation. Past me would have thought this wall all rubbish, but I'm just so happy at the moment.

3. MY SISTER ENTERED A CARD COMPETITION (AND I'M JUST THAT LITTLE BIT PROUD)

My older sister Lizzie (aka the cooler more creative Nightingale), has been doing these adorable sassy animal illustrations for a while now and I couldn't be prouder. You can actually follow her on Instagram (@stylemoose), but if you could go vote for her I may love you forever. Just click this link here, press vote, and you're done. Simples.

4. I TURNED 20...

And realised I feel old, really old even though I'm not even that old and it feels stupid calling myself old. Damn, that was one long sentence. Long story short I miss being a carefree teenager, bring on official adulthood! (I guess?!). And yes I did have a sheep birthday cake.

Basically, NOT READY.

5. I KIND OF FAILED AT YOUTUBE

If you've ever tried Youtube then you probably know that keeping a blog and a Youtube account going can be a total nightmare (unless you're a total queen like Rhi) and it's for that reason I've kind of struggled with Youtube especially during exams. I do want to try and keep doing them, so we'll see if I can finally master it over the Summer holiday. But seriously props to any blogger who can keep both a channel and blog going!

6. I WENT TO ANOTHER LONDON BLOGGER MEET UP

The lovely Laila organised yet another Blogger meet up in London and it was a whole lot of fun, but because I'm a total idiot I forgot to take photos with anyone, whoops... But I had a lovely time getting lost on the way with Cherie, and chatting to all the girls including Fii, the absolutely hilarious Jess and lots of other lovely bloggers too. We actually went to a Vegan place called The Hive, and I had the yummiest burger and the most beautiful Matcha Latte - isn't it gorgeous? But honestly it's always so lovely having a little meetup because it's nice to be surrounded by people who just get blogging - like moaning about the fact no one ever follows you on Instagram, or the difficulties of getting that perfect flatlay. It's just nice.

7. I FEEL REALLY GOOD ABOUT BLOGGING

I don't know if you've noticed (you probably haven't) but I've just felt so good about blogging lately. Like I'm not going to lie I still care about numbers because no one really follows my blog anymore and my stats actually halved recently but I'm writing posts that I love and having fun with it. Honestly I just want to create great content. I want to make you guys smile, help you find the coolest and quirkiest things because #crazycushionlady, teach you things you didn't already know and just be someone who hopefully helps brighten up your day a bit. Who knows if that's all possible - but I'll give it a go!

8. #VICKYTRIESCOFFEE

Over on Instagram (@VVNightingale), I've recently started my own little mini coffee review series and I've been loving it. I actually started it because I am a bit of a Starbucks addict and thought I should give 'real coffee' a go. So I've headed over to places like Tap Coffee Soho, Timberyard, Flat White and even some high street favourites and it's been a whole lot of fun. Honestly one of the best things about blogging is that it gives you the opportunity to push yourself, explore and I guess appreciate all your opportunities a bit more. God I get emotional about coffee...

9. EXAMS, EXAMS, EXAMS (AND LOTS OF COFFEE AND REVISION)

My last exam was on Monday and it's such a relief to be free. Recently life has just been a whole lot of coffee, and hours of revision and seriously I'm glad it's over. But for anyone who still has them - good luck guys! Honestly even if you don't do as you planned don't be disheartened - sometimes life just doesn't go to plan but it is always alright in the end.

10. I'M STILL SINGLE

I'm sure somebody has missed having a bit of a nosey into my love life ever since The Single Girl Diaries ended but I hate to disappoint you but I am very boringly still single, and honestly not really looking. Apparently I've embraced this whole single girl thing and it actually suits me quite well. Still wouldn't turn down Mr Darcy though... But seriously if something happens it happens, but if it doesn't fine by me. I'm just not scared of being alone anymore.

11. I STARTED RE-WATCHING GOSSIP GIRL

Gossip Girl is a show I spent my teenage years watching, and absolutely loving but after the plots went a little too crazy for me I ended up losing interest and never actually got to the end (I do know who Gossip Girl is though). So I decided once and for all to watch it from beginning to end, and I completely forgot just how ridiculous the plot lines are but honestly Chuck and Blair keep me going (I LOVE THEM), and Blair gives me major wardrobe envy. Currently on Season 4, and just hoping I don't start losing interest again!

12. I JUMPED ON THE SNAPCHAT FILTER BANDWAGON

Maybe you've never noticed, but I've always considered the floral crown a sort of symbol for my blog - because I love flowers - so of course I fell a bit head over heels for the Snapchat flower crown filter. I also introduced my mum to a lot of the weirder filters. Let's just say this left her both fascinated and horrified, and she won't be downloading Snapchat any time soon... Oh and feel free to add me - I'm vickynigh!

Thanks for reading lovelies! Do give me some of your own life updates, I'd love to know what's going on with you!

  10. I think it's very important to remember why we love blogging, yes, stats matters but we shouldn't get caught up in it. I love your blog and still visit it as much as I could but these days I'm no longer much online myself. My stats has dropped too but I felt good of prioritizing my time with family instead of spending all my time online for blogging.

I voted for all three of your sister's entries, good luck to her! xx

  13. Love this post!!! I'm glad your exams are over hope they went well! And ah I'm 20 in September, I'm not ready to adult. Pls send help. Glad you had a lovely time at the blogger event too, I've only been to one but it was absolutely amazing and I hope to attend more soon! I also recently started a YouTube channel (thanks for subbing btw hahaha ly) I'll probably find it difficult to produce content for both platforms but it seems a lot of fun, I hope you make more videos soon!:)
