A Pale Girl's Guide To Sun Protection

Hello Lovelies! As someone who is super pale, sun protection is something that I'm more than familiar with. However when Spring/Summer comes around, I'm usually the first to get burnt, ending up burning my nose - and getting the nickname Rudolph (I love my friends). But recently I've realised that I should take sun protection a little more seriously. A statistic that really scares me is the fact that if you've had five or more sun burns, you are twice as likely to get melanoma, which is the most serious form of skin cancer. Hearing that was a bit of a wake up call, so I thought I'd share with you some of my own tips on how to protect yourself from the sun:

What To Watch Wednesday #2

Hey lovelies! This week I'm bringing you another instalment of What to Watch Wednesday - with films and series that have made me laugh, cry, develop a girl crush (Because Audrey Hepburn) and have really shocked me.

Lush | The Experimenter Bath Bomb

Hey lovelies! If you follow me on Instagram (vvnightingale), you'll know that last Friday I went to Lush's new Oxford Street store and bought some of their (currently) exclusive collection. Not to make those of you who can't go jealous, but the new products are just amazing, and I went in wanting basically everything, but held back and only got six.

One of the products I couldn't wait to try was Lush's The Experimenter Bath Bomb (£3.75).  The Experimenter Bath Bomb is a fun multi-coloured product, with a glitter shimmer to it. For me this has a really mysterious smoky scent, which just made me even more intrigued by it. When I put it in the bath, it quickly started to dissolve and the popping candy inside started popping pretty much from the get go (it took me a while to realise what the noise was haha). The Experimenter shoots about beautifully vibrant colours, as it fizzes in your bath leaving an almost galaxy like array of colour.

Weekly Homeware/Gifts Picks (27th April - 3rd May)

Hey Lovelies! After a very indulgent birthday weekend, I've realised that I have a lot of work to do. May is exam month, and I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to cope with all the tests - but on the bright side I get my holiday soon after! This week's picks are pretty eclectic, from an adorable elephant mug to this stag jewellery stand that I am just obsessed with!

What I Got For My Birthday!

Hello Lovelies! I turned 19 yesterday (God I feel old), and I thought for those of you who are curious, I'd share with you what I got for my birthday. One of the things that I got, which will be no surprise to anyone who follows me is Lush's Pop gift box. It's one I've had my eyes on for a while because it has ten of Lush's bath bombs (with only one I've actually tried!).

Review: Tatler Limited Edition Birchbox

Hello Lovelies! I'm back with another Birchbox review. This month rather than one of their monthly (£10) boxes, I'll be giving you my verdict on their Limited Edition Tatler Box* (£25.00). First off I have to say that I LOVE the box design, it's so pretty and floral! Interestingly, this box is all about celebrating British brands, with the products inside coming from all over Britain from London to The Cotswolds. The products all seem to have quite a floral and organic vibe to them - so I really feel like the theme of the box works really well this week as opposed to some of the others where the products seemed really out of place. First impressions aside, I am a little skeptical - after all this box is £25.00, is it really worth it? Find out what I think down below:

What To Watch Wednesday #1

Maybe it's just me, but I'm constantly on the lookout for new films or shows to watch. So I thought I'd test out a new segment on this blog called 'What To Watch Wednesday', in the hope that I can share with you some of the films and shows I love - and you actually might have a go at watching them! Do let me know if this is a series you'd be interested in, as I'd love to continue doing it.

Weekly Homeware/Gifts Picks (20th April - 26th April)

Hello Lovelies! This week I'm really happy with my picks, as there are so many things here that I really am obsessed with. Also, I'm turning nineteen this Saturday, so I'm really excited about my birthday - apart from the fact that I'm returning to uni this week and have so many tests *sobs*. I hope you enjoy this week's picks, from biscuit cushions to gem inspired homeware, here we go:

You probably didn't notice I was away, as I queued posts for the last two weeks but I have really missed you all, and will try my best to reply to all your old comments and check out the amazing blog posts I missed whilst I was abroad.

Review: Lush's Rose Queen Bath Bomb

Hello Lovelies! One of the Lush products that I picked up recently was the Rose Queen Bath Bomb (£2.75), which is a petite rose scented bath bomb. Rose scents are personally some of my favourites so I was drawn to this one almost immediately. As some of you might remember I reviewed Lush's Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb a while ago, which is very similar to this one as they both have petals inside, but Rose Queen has a much stronger and sweeter scent and is much smaller too.

Weekly Homeware/Gifts Picks (13th April - 19th April)

Hello lovelies! This week's picks are a slightly quirky collection of things from poodle salt and pepper shakers to a recipe book for mug cakes. As always I hope you enjoy these picks and find something you might want to buy yourself!

Review: Bourjois Smoky Eyes Trio

Hello Lovelies! If you've followed my blog for a while, you will know that Bourjois is my favourite Drugstore brand, because I've loved virtually every product I've ever tried from them. I actually got The Smoky Eyes Trio - Gris Dandy (£7.99) in a free gift set around Christmas time, after I spent £15.00 on Bourjois so it wasn't exactly what I would pick for myself colour wise but I gave it a go anyway.

Review: Benefit's Dandelion Blusher

Hello Lovelies! You've probably all heard about Benefit's Dandelion Blusher, but is it really worth the hype?

The Dandelion Blusher (£23.50) is actually one of my sister's all time favourite products so I got it for my sister at Christmas and in return she let me try it out so I can review it on my blog - and sneakily use it now and then.

First impressions is I really love the packaging. It's cute and compact with a tiny brush and a mirror, so is perfect for carrying around with you in your handbag to top up during the day if you need to. The actual blusher has a really pretty smell, but it's not heavily perfumed or anything.

When you apply it, it gives your skin a very subtle pink glow (so subtle that I didn't think it was worth doing a swatch) which is perfect if you have super pale skin like me and want something to brighten it up. What I will say is that it is a very light pink, so if you favour a bold blusher rather than a subtle one then this definitely isn't for you and I'm not so sure if it would show up so well on darker skin either.

The real question is, would I buy this for myself? Probably, because it's pretty much the perfect blusher for me, if not a little overpriced - but this will definitely last a very long time.

Have you tried Benefit's Dandelion blusher? Let me know in the comment section below! If you haven't, do you want to?

Weekly Homeware/Gifts Picks (6th April - 12th April)

Hey Lovelies! Today's picks have turned out slightly more mature than usual - well I say that and they are all pretty quirky anyway but for some reason I swayed for a more neutral colour palette this week rather than bold in your face colours like on some weeks (if you've seen some of these other posts, you'll know what I mean lol). Thanks for reading and as always make sure you tell me what you think in the comment section below!

Review: Lush's Immaculate Eggception Pink Bath Bomb

Hello Lovelies! Today I'll be sharing you my final product review from Lush's Easter collection. Before I tell you about Immaculate Eggception, I just have to say that I have loved this collection so much from Lush, so hats off to them for producing it and getting me into the Easter spirit.

Review: Lush's Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb

Hey Lovelies! Hope you're having an amazing day. First thing I should probably do is apologise for the pretty poor photos in this post. For some reason with Fluffy Egg the pictures turned out particularly bad and I have only about two of it actually in the bath - so sorry for that!

Fluffy Egg (£2.95) is a pretty simple bath bomb. It's pretty small, but still a good size and smells of Snow Fairy, yes Snow Fairy. For those of you who don't know what the Snow Fairy smell is like, it's a super sickly sweet scent that lots of people love, and other people like me get headaches from. Yup, it's just too sweet for me.
