Weekly Homeware/Gifts Picks (29th September - 5th October)

The Start Of A New Chapter

This week I had my Freshers at University, and it was both exciting and terrifying. I'll say first off that I didn't have a typical Freshers week at all, I didn't have any crazy drunken nights or go to any parties. But I made a good friend who I really got to know and spend time with, so I can't complain about how things have gone because I've met and had some great times meeting new people. I didn't move away for uni so I'm living at home in London, but it's still exciting meeting new people and learning Japanese and Korean even if it isn't quite the same as living away from home. London is a city that I have an undying love for. It's exciting, multi-cultural and I'm more than happy to be staying here.

Weekly Homeware/Gifts Picks (22nd - 28th September)

Hey there, here's my gifts and homeware picks for this week, enjoy!

Review: MUA Hall Of Fame Eyeshadow Palette

Hey lovelies! I purchased a MUA palette for the first time a couple of days ago. My first impression was that this is great value as you get a selection of twelve colours for £4.00 which is really good value! I also love that the theme of this palette is Hall Of Fame, so you get a selection of their best and most popular colours.

Blog Design From Start To Finish 'The Modern Fairy'

Hey there lovelies! Even though we might not want to admit it, the blogging world has a habit of judging a book by its cover - so the appearance of your blog is very important. Coming up with the design of your blog can be a very stressful process, so hopefully this tutorial will give you some design tips and pointers. I created a blog purely for this tutorial, called 'The Modern Fairy' to illustrate the idea of the blog - in this case a cute and playful look. The changes I made to the blog are very simple and easy but they help to make the blog more appealing without having to buy a theme or play around too much with HTML. Here's a step by step transformation, starting off with Blogger's Simple Blog template:

Review: Barry M Summer Love Palette

Even though Summer is basically over (I'm still clinging on!), I still wanted to review this Barry M Summer Love Palette, because I'm in love with how pretty the eyeshadow colours are. The palette (£6.49) comes in this really pretty mint cardboard case, with a mirror and two double end applicators.

How To Get More Readers For Your Blog

One of the most annoying things is when you make a post, put lots of love and effort in to it, and then get no comments at all, or only a few. This will probably make you think your content is bad, but the reality is that if you produce great content but nobody knows it exists then you'll get no comments. So I thought I'd share you some of my tips to get readers for your blog, there are quite a few!

Project Runway Season 13 Episode 7 Recap: 'Chopard'

This week the contestants had to make an outfit suitable for a Gala red carpet, but also complimenting the Chopard jewellery they had chosen. Tim Gunn decided to use his 'Tim Gunn save' and brought back Char who was eliminated last week. Here's what I thought of the looks this week:

Review: Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Blusher (Berry Jamm and Onomatopeacha)

Hey lovelies! Today I'm going to be telling you what I think of Soap&Glory's Sexy Mother Blushers (£9.00). First off I love the packaging, I think it's really fun. One of the great things about Soap & Glory is that they are always exciting to try as they put a lot of effort into creating a fun name and look for their product.

Gift Set Ideas #1: Bright Ideas

One of the things I love to do is create gift sets for my friends/family. I think it's a great way to make your presents that little bit more special. For this gift set the theme is 'Bright Ideas' which is great for anyone who loves stationery or has a creative flare.

I'm one of those people who spends a little too much of my time searching the internet for cool gift ideas and Homeware. I just love discovering new products and especially sharing them with people, so here is my Homeware and gifts picks for this week:
