Review: Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Laquer (Eclipse)

Today I'm reviewing Rimmel London's Apocalips Lip Laquer in Eclipse. I bought this for £5.99 from Boots. I really love the design as it has this cool geometric edge at the end of it, and I love the way that the colour fades into the black. Only thing I will say is I wish the colour on the outside of the bottle was slightly clearer as it wasn't entirely clear what the colour of the lip laquer actually was.

The lip laquer has a very glossy and creamy texture, which I personally feel is a bit too over the top. It also has a slightly off putting taste/smell. I found applying this really hard to do as it tends to slip over your lips, so it's very hard to apply without bleeding it onto your skin. That and it transfers off your lips really easily, so it's not very good for wearing on a date or if you're planning to drink/eat anything. It also doesn't last very long at all, as it dries out after a couple of hours.

What I do like about this lip laquer is that it's versatile colour wise, there's the very dramatic deep red colour and also if you blend it in a much lighter pink/red colour. Because I found it really annoying to apply as it was, I decided instead to try smoothing it out and applying it with my fingers instead for a much lighter colour to suit my paler skin. Whilst I was happy with this result, I feel that colour wise it was very different from the colour on the bottle and I think that without blending it into your lips it transfers far too easily and feels too sticky. If I'm honest, I was disappointed with this product which surprised me because I usually love anything Rimmel. The Pro is that it has great colour, the con is that it's hard to apply and doesn't have a very good texture/smell.
