Lifestyle | The Joy Of Not Sharing

Hello Lovelies! Blogging is all about sharing so some of you might have read this post and thought huh? Has Vicky gone crazy? But I've been thinking a lot recently about how nice it is sometimes to do and have things that don't get blogged about at all. And by that I'm not really talking about personal things, issues or relationships but things like going out to eat at a nice cafe or buying a super pretty palette and thinking what the hell you know what let's not blog about this.

I'm not exactly saying that I don't instagram the majority of the pretty places I go to or the nice things I buy, because let's be real I do but every now and then I like to have moments where I do things that are very blogg-able but I don't share them at all. Take my word for it, it's pretty liberating. I'm a big believer in having a bit of distance when it comes to social media. Sure my blog, my instagram and my twitter is a reflection of me but I always steer clear of it defining me. I've never wanted it to be everything, but just some highlights of my life, with the occasional low points too.

Blogging and social media can be REALLY consuming, so sometimes it's worth taking a step back, turning off your phone and just living in the moment every now and then. I say this as someone who feels like a 'blogger' pretty much every day of her life. But sometimes it's ok to go to a fancy restaurant or a holiday and not blog about it. To be honest this post is probably just a reminder for me to do this more often, because honestly I love to share but sometimes not sharing can be the best thing in the world too.

Thanks for reading lovelies! Hope you had a relaxing weekend like I did!

  1. I agree 100%, not everything needs to be out there for everyone to see. Social media can be exhausting.

  2. Very well said, Vicky. I know 90% of the younger generations tend to over-share everything and nothing is sacred anymore and it's actually kind of sad that these days everyone feel the need to let everyone know everything. I know it's weird to say that because I'm a blogger but I really do try to keep my family life as private as possible.
