Beauty | Opi I Sing In Color Creme Gloss Nail Polish

Hello Lovelies! On Monday I had the amazing opportunity to go to the London Fashion Week Blogger Beauty Bar hosted by The Blogger's Lounge, where I got the chance to meet a whole range of great brands and get some of their products to try! One of the brands was Pink Parcel, a monthly box all based around your time of the month, which you can find out a little more about here. I'd definitely recommend them as I think they are amazing value, as in the box you get period products (tampons or sanitary towels) as well as beauty and lifestyle treats all for £12.99 (P&P including). And if you're younger, they also have a box for young teens too, here. It's a brilliant idea if you want to make your time of the month that little less stressful - because let's face it, who loves their period? Not me I can tell you that, it turns me in to a bit of an irritable gremlin...

One of the products in their latest box was this Opi I Sing In Color Creme Gloss Nail Polish* (£9.00). When it comes to nail polishes I don't actually experiment very much at all as I pretty much stick to Rimmel ones, but it was nice to try something from a more high end brand! But unfortunately my opinion of this nail polish is very mixed. And yes I know what you're thinking, wow Vicky you applied that nail polish well... Truth is I had to reapply this nail polish just for the photos and I was a little impatient! Believe it or not I've had to reapply this nail polish four times in the last four days because the damn thing chips so much and that's with three coats! So by the time I got to taking photos of it, not-so-perfect-blogger me was a bit lazy and decided to show you some more candid nails for once because honestly I'm not exactly the queen of manicures as it is.

But on to the positives, I really love the colour, because it is so perfect for this time of the year! It's a dark purple that looks almost black and works so well with Autumn clothes, and reminds me a lot of the colour of blackberries. I'm also in love with the finish, it's super shiny and smooth and applied like a dream with no streakiness at all. But for me the fact that it chips so easily is a massive deal breaker as I think for the price the staying power should be a hell of a lot better. That said if you don't mind doing a clear top coat over your nail varnish then this will probably work fine for you, as in all other ways this is a good nail polish.

Thank you for reading lovelies! If you've ever tried an Opi Nail polish, do let me know as I'm curious to see if anyone has had the same problem or if it's just bad luck on my part. Happy Friday lovelies, and have an amazing weekend!

  2. I love dark purple color on the nails, looks so perfect for autumn. I'm surprised that OPI nail polish chips so easily, I thought it has a better staying power. But did you apply a top coat as well? Usually it helps to prolong the wear of a nail polish. But anyway, it is still annoying especially for the OPI price.

    1. No I didn't apply a top coat but then I don't with any of my nail polishes usually and I tend to have much better staying power even with cheaper ones!

    1. Oh yeah it was amazing! And yeah it sucks that the longevity is so bad for the price!

  4. I actually like OPI nail polish and I find them to last longer than Ciate but that's the problem with nail polish. The quality and durability differs from one shade to another. :-/

    1. Yeah definitely, I think there can be such a variation in shade but it's good to know that not all Opi nail varnishes are like this!
