My Skincare Routine Challenge

Hey there lovelies! I will be one of the first people to admit that I have a very lazy skin care routine, in fact I hardly have a routine at all. So I decided for once that enough is enough, I am going to challenge myself to follow a skin care routine for at least a month and see if it makes a change!

To help me with this, I got in touch with the lovely Amber (ambermagus.ca) who with her amazing knowledge put together a skin care routine for me. Make sure you check out her blog as she has some amazing posts about skincare!

To start off with she did a skin analysis, and found out that my skin type is combination but my skin is also sensitive and dehydrated. If you're not sure what your skin type is, you can check out Amber's post on How to Determine Your Skin Type

After finding out my skin type and various problems I have with my skin, Amber put together the following skin care routine for me to follow:

CLEANSE

Morning and Night. Do a double cleanse if you've been wearing makeup.

TONER

Morning and Night. Use after you are finished with water, as toners are used to rebalance your skin after tap water.

EXFOLIATE

Once a week. Make sure the product you are using is not too aggressive as you have sensitive skin.

MASK

Once a week to help detox and clean up spots.

MOISTURISER

Morning and Night. Use a moisturiser that is hydrating but also light.

WATER

Drink two litres a day. This will help with my dehydrated skin.

Hope you enjoyed this post lovelies. I'll be doing two more posts later on to tell you about the products I'm using in this routine and if there's any changes or improvements to my skin.

Do you have a good skin care routine? Or are you as lazy as me? Tell me in the comment section below!

  3. My skin care routine is pretty much the same as yours, except I don't use toner anymore as I've recently learnt it's a pointless product now days!

  9. Gah, to be young and carefree and without any wrinkles yet, I miss those good old days. LOL! These days I slap on every single darn product that has 'anti-ageing' written on it!
