Review: Farrow&Ball Decorating With Colour

If you've followed my blog for a while, you've probably noticed by now that I really love interior design. One of my favourite things to look at is interior design books, just like this one from Farrow&Ball. Farrow&Ball Decorating With Colour (by Ross Byam Shaw)* has 192 pages of interior design inspiration, ranging from modern looks to more traditional ones. The book (hardback) costs £22.75 from Amazon so is a bit on the pricey side, but you definitely get value for money.

The basis of the book is that it explores interiors of real homes that have used Farrow&Ball wallpapers and paints, honing in on the way in which the rooms have been decorated with a use of colour.

Flicking through this book, I really am inspired by the various interiors, I especially love the muted calm/easy going look of the above rooms with it's subtle use of colour. Looking through this book feels like exploring a tangible pinterest, because it's filled with gorgeous pictures.

Alongside the pictures, you can read details about how each house was designed and personal stories behind why they were decorated that way. You can also read about the history of the designs as many of the houses are old but with modern twists.

One of the things that really struck me in this book, is the lovely use of wallpaper in some of the interiors. I really love this (bumblebee?) wallpaper print and the bamboo one too. All in all, this book has a really great range of interiors to inspire you when designing or making little changes to your home.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Tell me what you think in the comment section below. Have a great day lovelies!

  5. I absolutely love the 'bumblebee' type wallpaper, the colors are gorgeous. I also adore the bright colors of the room with the several different colored lamps, and the way everything is organised. Books like this are just so good to look through, I'll definitely be using them for inspiration when I eventually reach the time to move out. c:
