Lush | Ectoplasm Jelly Bomb

Hello Lovelies!

As I said before, it's been an odd couple of weeks so I've definitely fallen a little bit behind with my Lush Halloween reviews (but oh well!). This time it's another one of Lush's new creation - the jelly bomb! Now a lot of people are on the fence about these, and I'd definitely say I'm on the side of thinking what's the point? But for Halloween, the idea of a jelly bomb totally fits.

The Ectoplasm Jelly Bomb (£4.95) looks very fun and spooky with the typical jelly bomb design and a cute little ghost on it too which sadly isn't at all visible on mine. Scent wise it has an intriguing fragrance made up of tangerine and grapefruit that I think works really well for Halloween. When you drop this into your bath it is definitely a very slow dissolver - we're talking at least 20 minutes! Part of the problem is that the jelly gets in the way of the actual bath bomb dissolving, which can be a little frustrating.

Looks wise this is definitely not my favourite. It kind of looks like a monster threw up in my bath or something rather than looking creepy or spooky. Let's be honest, it's just not pretty! That said I did like the jelly to a certain extent - it's lovely and moisturising on the skin and quite fun to play with. However, after trying a few jelly bombs I am starting to think they are a bit more hassle than they're worth. The way I see it is that I'd rather use the Lord of Misrule bath bomb, and not have as much mess and hassle. So sadly Ectoplasm is definitely not one of my favourites of this year's range!

  2. Now that's a weird one! I'd never seen how it looked like in the bath before but it certainly doesn't look pretty, unfortunately. Plus it does take a long time to dissolve, which is a shame considering that the result isn't the best. Although the scent seems lovely, the look isn't worth it I think! Thanks for always sharing your honest opinion in these reviews :)
