Fashion | Inside My Jewellery Box...

Hello Lovelies!

I remember my first jewellery box vividly. It was a little girl's dream - this bright pink plastic box, which when opened presented a ballerina that spun round as music played. At that age my jewellery was a treasure trove, packed with handmade jewellery and little plastic toys that I hid away in it. Honestly there is nothing quite like the way we treasure things as children.

That was my first jewellery box, and ever since I haven't had another one, until now. My jewellery over the years has been kept on a jewellery stand which works fine, but doesn't quite feel the same especially as it often ends up in necklaces getting tangled up which is not fun at all. This time round I wanted to get a jewellery box that grew with me. I don't have the biggest collection, but I wanted a box that could adapt if I did start to get more jewellery. That's why I chose a Stackers box, as you can adapt and buy different levels to fit your collection.

The one I picked was this gorgeous Duck Egg Mini Jewellery Box (£32.00) because I love pastel blue and I couldn't resist the polka dot detail either. The mini box has two levels, one perfect for rings and bracelets and a bottom layer perfect for chunkier necklaces. The only problem I've found with this box is that if you have chunkier rings like me it's a bit of a struggle to close it which is a tad annoying. Apart from that the bottom layer was also a bit scuffed in the top two corners which was a shame as it's totally brand new.

Now on to my actual jewellery collection. Originally I was going to talk you through every piece but then I realised I have way too much jewellery to do that and it would actually be really tedious. So instead here are a few pieces I love. The first is my chunky necklace I have had for god knows how long. I can't even remember where I got it from, but I love it because it's one of those pieces I've never got bored of. Plus who doesn't love a good ol' statement necklace?

My ring collection is a mish mash of bold rings, cute rings (see the panda and unicorn) and the occasional understated ring. Recently I've been buying lots of rings from Reclaimed Vintage at Topshop Oxford Street which I absolutely love because it feels like you're really getting something speical (see the ring on the left and the right). The one in the centre is actually a ring that I was gifted a year or two ago by Gemporia and it remains a firm favourite. It's definitely not understated but that's exactly what I love about it.

For Christmas, I got this cute fox necklace from Orelia. One of the reasons I love it is because my dog Flossie looks like a fox so it reminds me of her. I also love dainty little pieces like this one because you can wear them with almost anything.

Anyway that's my jewellery box - are you a big jewellery fan? If so let me know what's in your collection...

Love Vicky x

  2. What a pretty jewellery box! I still remember my first one too haha, it was a 101 Dalmatians box with a little dog inside in place of the usual fairy. I loved it! The fox necklace is gorgeous! I love animal-themed jewellery like that, one of my favourites a couple years back was a little gold hare, it reminded me a lot of Alice in Wonderland. Also, your nails look fabulous!

  4. I love the pastel blue color! I have a stand but my jewellery gets tangled and fall off all the time so I may invest in a box next time.
