Lifestyle | Autumn Walks At Kew

Hello Lovelies! I'm all about Autumn. Give me a fluffy blanket, a jumper, a hot drink and throw in a few crunchy leaves and I'm one happy girl. I also really love walking, mostly because it's the only exercise I ever do (never expect me to blog about fitness, it's never going to happen...). So making a visit to Kew just seemed like the perfect Autumn past time especially as I haven't been there in absolutely ages...

Honestly Kew is a hard place to talk about, maybe because I've been there so many times in my life. It's vast with a whole lot to explore. There are of course the greenhouses, which are amazing. The Palm House is perhaps the best one with a hidden aquarium in the basement, but the Princess of Wales Conservatory is a personal favourite as it's just done so well and I love a good bit of cacti. Other highlights are The Pagoda, The Japanese Landscape Garden (above), The Treetop Walkway (great if you don't have vertigo) and The Hive which is a new addition celebrating bees.

Funnily enough my mum thought me and my sister were crazy to go to Kew in Autumn, and not Spring (when you should go apparently). But there is a LOT to be said for going there in Autumn when the trees are gorgeous oranges and reds, and you can stroll around cocooned in your coat and pop into the Palm House if you really get super chilly. There's just something really nice about a moody Autumn walk, in my opinion anyway.

After leaving Kew we decided to dodge Starbucks and try out one of the Independent cafes Kew has to offer, and headed to Kew Greenhouse Cafe which is super close to Kew Gardens Station. It's an only cash place, but there's like three cash machines outside so this really isn't a problem if you've become a bit contactless crazy. It's a lovely cafe serving both savoury and sweet, with seating outside and inside, including a pretty conservatory with marble tables which is basically blogger heaven. I decided to get a latte and some carrot cake, and my sister got a cappuccino and the most amazing BAKED CHEESECAKE. Like seriously it may be worth going to this cafe just for that cheesecake, so, so good.

All in all I really enjoyed my visit to Kew. I've been there countless times but I always find myself discovering something new and that's partly the joy of it. Thanks for reading lovelies - have a great day!

  4. I haven't been to Kew Gardens yet, but I've heard so many good things about the place that I need to visit! Probably in the spring, because yeah it must definitely be the best time to go :P Although having an autumnal walk there and then stopping at the cafe for a hot drink sounds like the perfect plan for an afternoon out! That cheesecake looks amazing :D

    1. Oh you definitely need to go! It's one of those places that you really must go to at least once! They also do Christmas lights this time of year so that's something to think about :)
