Beauty | Pixi Redness Reducing Primer

Hello Lovelies! Today we're talking primers, a part of the beauty world I'm not exactly clued up on. Don't get me wrong, I've dabbled in that realm of beauty, trying out some of the favourites - Porefessional, Baby Skin and even Bourjois Happy Light Primer but honestly they always leave me feeling a bit lost. To Prime or not to Prime that is the question, and honestly more often than not I really can't be bothered. Beauty queen right here folks.

That said, when I spotted Pixi's Redness Reducing Primer (£24.00) I was really intrigued, mostly because angry red seems to be my skin's default these days (blame the sun and acne for that one). Although in fairness ever since using Plant Nanny, my skin has come leaps and bounds, although not going to lie it's still pretty awful... Seriously the last time I had good skin I was a baby, true story.

One of the first things you'll notice is that Pixi's primer is green, but don't worry guys it won't turn you Grinch green it's just a nifty bit of colour correction that helps to tackle all that nasty redness. You only have to apply a little bit, because it really goes a long way which is great because the bottle is tiny! One of the things that I love about this primer is it doesn't have that horrible silicone feel that some of them do, as it blends in so nicely and feels like you have nothing on your skin at all. As far as colour correction goes this is no miracle worker as it won't completely get rid of redness but it's a great base as it calms the colour down enough that you really don't need as much foundation or concealer! It also really helps to improve the staying power of your makeup, and I've found that even after super hot days my makeup has stayed which is a lifesaver in this weather. Even better it hasn't broke me out, so I think for sensitive skin this a great choice too.

So all in all I really love this primer, and honestly it's the perfect choice for anyone who finds they frequently break out or have red patches. My only negative really is the price, as for the size of the bottle it's a lot higher than I'd usually pay but if you're looking to invest in a good bit of beauty I'd definitely recommend it!

Thank you for reading lovelies! Have you used any of Pixi's products?

  4. Ooh interesting, do you know what sort of ingredients this has? I've seen the whole rise of green/correcting primers making their way round, and Nyx and Smashbox have some out that people really like too but I'm still hoping I find something more green bc my face is already red as it is :'(

  7. I wish Pixi is easily available for us Canadian but it's so freaking pricey, the shipping alone would put me in the poor house.

  8. I've heard a lot about the brand Pixi recently! Personally, I don't really suffer with much redness, but I do occasionally get some around my nose so this product would be great for that!
