Fashion | Frosty Florals OOTD

Hello Lovelies! As I've said before, outfit posts are something I've always wanted to do here on my little corner of the internet because I love Fashion. You'd probably assume from my blog that I'm just obsessed with Lush and Homeware, but really I love clothes too and my love of Fashion is actually the reason I started this blog. As is the case for so many bloggers, it's all about confidence and of course finding someone willing to take photos of you (Thanks mum!). But this time unlike my last OOTD, I've compromised and cut my head out because I do just get so self conscious. That said, I'm aiming to start doing them with my head in the photo one day, but for now this will do. Blogging really does help to push you out of your comfort zone, so I hope that some time in the future it will help me to get over my insecurities.

Like most girls I love a good floral print, and when I saw this dress on Asos I just fell in love. What I love most about it, is that it's wintry. Florals are not something you'd usually associate with this time of year, but the cold frosty background of this dress gives it that cool Winter feel. The dress has these quite over-sized triangular sleeves which are quite hard to get used to at first, but have really grown on me because I've never really seen a shape quite like them. Because the dress is made out of Scuba material, it also holds its shape really well which is a definite plus. The coat I'm wearing here is a simple black one from New Look, ashamedly stolen off my sister - Sorry Liz, and my ankle boots are from Topshop. I also think that these Suffolk leaves should get an honorary mention, because they did a great modelling job. Leaves are seriously one of the best things ever.  And honestly although I love the city, there will always be a big part of me that's a country girl too. It's just in my blood.

Thanks for reading lovelies! Would you like to see some more OOTDs? Do let me know in the comment section below. Also if you haven't already, do enter my giveaway!

  2. I completely understand what you mean by feeling very self conscious because I feel the same. I honestly cringe and die a little inside whenever I am in front of the camera and when I check the pictures that my husband took, my first thought is why do I look so weird?! Or why do I look that fat?! It's stupid and all in the mind but when one feel that awkward and self conscious then we tend to nitpick on things that don't exist. xx

  3. I love the sleeves on this dress, they're so gorgeous! And of course, OOTD posts are bloody hard. Takes a lot to look back at pictures of yourself and say 'Yeah I'm happy putting that on the internet!' It's why I don't do them as often as I'd like too. Hopefully your confidence will grow and you'll feel more able to do these posts, as I'd love to see more of them! And don't be afraid to give me a shout if you want a hand with photos! That might seem like the most mortifying idea in the world to you, but in case it isn't I thought I'd let you know the option is there! x

  4. I understand how you feel about photos, although I think you are gorgeous and very photogenic personally!, a lot of the time when I look back at photos I've taken im like 'omg do I really look like that? ergh!' haha and always pick faults in blog photos. Winds me up! Maybe one day I'll not feel like that.

That being said, I loved this floral look! Great photographs :)

  6. Honestly, I don't know why never thought to crop my head out of photos I don't like. I can understand that being in front of the camera can be a bit nerve-racking. The more photo sessions you do the easier it gets to start posing. I'm trying to get there myself. On another note, I absolutely love the neckline & sleeves of the dress. :]

I understand about cropping your head as if you look at all my 90+ blog posts I think only one have a picture of me ( a review on a pair of reading glasses). I found it very hard too , hopefully you'll feel more confident soon.
