My Sophie Corrigan Portrait

Hello Lovelies! If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen this adorable illustration I commissioned from my favourite illustrator Sophie Corrigan. Her illustrations are always so cute and quirky, so I felt like her style fitted my blog perfectly. And let me tell you she was a dream to work with. She completed the drawing really quickly, and it turned out to be even more than I could have expected.

And if I'm honest I've been going through a bit of a blogging crisis lately, so this has just been such a nice little motivation boost. See the thing is, my blog doesn't really fit in to a category. I'm what - a Fashion, Beauty, Homeware and possibly even Lifestyle blog? It doesn't bother me, because hey I write about the things I love because I never want to be restricted. Although, honestly sometimes I feel like I don't fit in because I don't have my niche. Sure I do a lot of Lush reviews, and a lot of Gifts and Homeware but I feel like maybe it all just gets a bit boring? But then at the same time I feel like all bloggers go through this even though it feels like it's just me.

My friend Scott (Sassy Scott) seemed genuinely impressed when I told him I blogged four times a week, and it actually surprised me. He is genuinely such a babe, and pretty much a male version of me (so obviously he's awesome...). God if he ends up reading this post I'll be embarrassed... But anyway, it's crazy how you can forget how tough blogging can be especially when you have so many things going on in your life but the truth is because there are so many of us, we tend to underestimate ourselves. So basically the moral of this rant is don't underestimate yourself, blogger or not because you have a lot to give the world - you just have to believe it!

Thanks for reading lovelies! Do let me know what you've been up to lately, I'd love to know.

  2. WOW this is so beautiful and whimsical, I love her style! You should definitely feel free to blog about whatever is on your mind and in your heart, I can't even categorize my blog either and I feel like that's actually pretty great that we don't stick to one specific topic! Wishing you a beautiful day! xxxxx

  3. Love the illustration! I don't think blogs need a niche, it makes bloggers afraid to try something new. Blog about what makes you happy and in turn you'll make others happy. I enjoy reading your blog so much. =^-^=

  4. That illustration is super cute and pretty, Vicky! And I know what you mean by feeling not quite fit in but you know what? I love that you don't have a niche and you write what you feel like writing, that's what make YOU special.

  5. Gosh, this illustration is SO adorable. I know what you mean about not fitting in. Although I like to class myself as a Lifestyle blogger, lately I haven't even been feeling like that! It sucks :(

    1. Yeah, I sometimes think I should classify myself as Lifestyle but it just doesn't feel right for me! But I think a lot of bloggers go through this or feel conflicted!
