Review: Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm In Honey Nectar

Hello Lovelies! If you read my June Birchbox review you would have heard a little about this lip balm but I decided I wanted to do a proper review on it because to my surprise this has actually become one of my beauty favourites. Pixi by Petra is a brand that I'd never heard before until now. It's a relatively new brand, started up by Petra Strand in their flagship store in Soho, London ten years ago. Since then it's spread worldwide, and aims to help women embrace their natural beauty and make the most of their looks.

Their Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in Honey Nectar (£8.00) originally had me feeling a little underwhelmed. That shape of the bullet was originally a little harsh and hard to apply, but after a few uses it becomes much more rounded and easy to use. The colour, a brown nude, is great for a no makeup or my lips but better look as it adds a subtle but warm touch with a subtle shimmer too. What I really love about this lip balm however, is its formula. It's so creamy and moisturising, and is definitely one of the best lip balms I've ever tried. Plus it smells absolutely lovely which is always a plus.

If you're not a fan of this colour, it also comes in five others: Comfort Clear, Natural Rose, Pixi Pink, Coral Crush and Ripe Raspberry. Even if it is a little on the pricier side of what I'd usually spend on a lip balm, I think it is well worth it. It's become one of my makeup staples, and is definitely a product that is worth trying out if you tend to get dry lips like me!

Thank you for reading lovelies! Have you ever tried anything from Pixi?

  1. I have not tried any of their products, but I keep hearing about them for sure. I really want to try their Concealer palette, it looks perfect and I've heard it covers dark circles really really well. I quite like the colour of this lippie, although lip balms for me need to have no colour at all (i wear them before going to bed, so my pillows would look all messed up otherwise :p)

Thanks for reviewing this for us!

    1. Yeah everyone seems to have been talking about them. Oh I haven't heard about that actually I will definitely have to check it out! Well they do have a clear version, so you could always try that out. And you're welcome! :) x

  2. I owned a couple of tinted lip balm but I often find them to dry my lips more than ever. I've never tried this from Pixi though, will try to look for it here and give it a go. Hopefully I'll have better luck with this.

    1. Yeah I think the tint tends to try out the formula, but these have never dried my lips. I think some people do react differently to lip products because some people find things like Baby Lips hydrating but I've always found them so drying!

  5. I have never heard of this brand before, but seeing as I do get dry lips I should definitely look into this brand. I love the colour. I love those brown tone nudes, I think they're stunning to be honest. :) I wonder how much this retails for though? That's the real question that dictates whether or not I'd go for it. :)

    1. It's £8.00 :) Definitely a little pricier than what I would usually go for but it does moisturise your lips and give them colour so I don't think it's such a bad price!
