Lush | Lava Lamp Bath Bomb

Hello Lovelies! Today I am sharing my thoughts on another Lush Oxford Street Exclusive, the Lava Lamp bath bomb (£3.35). Lava Lamp is one of the products that instantly stood out to me - a bright orange colour, with cocoa butter purple discs, it's hard not to notice this one. If that wasn't enough, this has a gorgeous, super strong orange smell - a combination of three orange oils!

When you put this in your bath, it manically fizzes away, spurting out its three purple discs, which in turn break into little purples bits. This turns your bath into what looks like a lava lamp, a deep orange with gloopy purple running through. If that wasn't good enough, it smells phenomenal, with the orange scent remaining strong throughout the bath and even on your skin afterwards. The water also feels amazing on your skin, and leaves you feeling nourished and pampered.

However, I have to say that there was one part of this bath bomb that really let it down. Unfortunately, when you finish with your bath, the purple oil sticks around on your skin and the bath. This means that after draining your bath you're left with purple all around the sides and on your skin. Whilst with most Lush bath bombs, the colour washes easily away - I found this one to be super resilient and quite annoying and now I have a rather purple towel... whoops. It does come off your bath but you really do have to clean it afterwards, and make sure you get all of it off your skin - so be prepared for that if you do make a purchase.

So all in all I do have mixed feelings about this one. If it wasn't for the fact that you have to clean your bath after this, I'd probably repurchase it straight away - because it is amazing both scent and appearance wise. Regardless, Lava Lamp is an experience, and probably one of Lush's most exciting bath bombs to date.

Thank you for reading lovelies! What do you think of Lava Lamp, do you think it's worth it even if you have to clean up afterwards?

  3. For some reason this bath bomb reminds me of a diver's helmet (is that what it's called?)....and hell no to cleaning the tub, I'm honestly too lazy for it. Besides, I want to relax and not stressed out about cleaning after the bath. LOL!

  6. I've never used a bath bomb because I'm truthfully not a huge fan of baths. When people write about them I want to try one though :) Sorry about the having to clean out your bath :(
