Top Ten Celebrity Wedding Dresses

The wedding dress is traditionally the most important outfit in any women's life - ranging from the traditional white floor length to the more daring non-white alternatives. Here are my top ten favourite celebrity dresses in no particular order:

1) Grace Kelly became royalty when she married Prince Rainer III of Monaco in 1956, and her dress designed by Helen Rose of MGM was certainly fit for a princess.

2) Megan Fox looked effortlessly beautiful when she married Brian Austin Green in 2010, in  their ceremony that took place on a Hawaiian beach. She wore a simple chiffon gown designed by Armani Prive.

3) Perhaps the most iconic wedding dress of all time, Princess Diana's dress is extremely decadent and dramatic. Personally I have never been a fan of the gown designed by David and Elizabeth Emmanuel (she looks lost in all that fabric), but somehow Princess Diana still managed to look elegant when she married Prince Charles in 1981.

4) Audrey Hepburn married her first husband Mell Ferrer in 1954, wearing a Balmain dress with wide shoulders and a brought in waist. Needless to say she looked beautiful and fairy-like in this chic wedding dress.

5) So technically this isn't a wedding dress, but you have to admire Bianca Jagger for choosing to wear this statement YSL Le Smoking jacket on her big day.

6) When Kate Moss Married Jamie Hitch in St Peter's church in the Cotswolds back in 2011, she wowed in a beautiful vintage style dress designed by John Galliano with a floor length veil. Her bias cut dress had a sheer skirt, showing off her slim figure with embroidered gold detail.

7) Dita Von Teese has never been one to shy away from the limelight, so it's not surprising she chose this wonderfully voluminous purple taffeta dress by Vivienne Westwood when she married (her now ex-husband) Marilyn Manson in 2005. Her wedding had a gothic theme (actually took place in Gurteen Castle in Ireland!) but Dita managed to steer away from looking like she was in costume. The blood red roses and hat by milliner Stephen Jones also made a perfect addition to her outfit.

8) Kate Middleton married Prince William in 2011, in a ceremony watched by 36.7 million people in the UK alone. Kate wore an Alexander McQueen dress designed by Sarah Burton with a sweetheart neckline covered with beautiful lace and a long train. Her dress was reminiscent of the one that Grace Kelly wore and was said to be inspired by it.

9) In 2002, Gwen Stefani married Gavin Rossdale, in a white gown dip-dyed in pink designed by John Galliano for Dior. Apparently Gwen decided to have two ceremonies just so that she could wear this dress twice! I love her edgy twist on a classic wedding dress.

10) Keira Knightley married her musician husband James Righton in 2013, in a non-traditional prom style wedding dress by Chanel. Her wedding dress may have been simple (she has actually worn it since at a charity gala), but both her and her husband looked the epitome of cool.
